JustDial, the mobile and online business listings business has entered the travel and ticketing space, reports NextBigWhat. The new features will include services to book bus tickets, hotel reservations, tour packages, car hiring and cab facilities. Bus ticketing services have already been integrated on the website, while it states 'Coming Soon' under the section for booking cabs, flights, hotels and train tickets. This is an interesting move, considering the stiff competition they may face from existing players. By entering this space, JustDial has begun competing with GoIbibo, MakeMyTrip and Yatra. However, signing a deal with the vendors shouldn’t be a problem as JustDial probably has an existing relationship with vendors who are already listed on the website. The company also has a strong foothold in most Indian cities. Recent additions JustDial has been expanding its e-commerce platform in stages. Last year, they added a range of services for booking cabs, movie tickets and doctor appointments online. Its marketplace went live in December last year, when it added flower delivery, grocery shopping, food delivery and other such services. Recently, JustDial announced its plans to integrate logistics services for its nationwide marketplace, which is similar to the marketplace model being adopted by many e-commerce companies. JustDial built its base using the local search model, and acquired both merchants and visitors. They have merchants and they have visitors who need to connect with those merchants.
