Ybrant Digital Marketing Revenues Up, Software Biz Down in Q3-FY14

Ybrant Digital has reported digital marketing revenues of Rs 355.41 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013, registering a 42.9% increase from Rs 248.69 crore in the same quarter last year and a 26.1% increase from Rs 281.87 crore in the previous quarter. The segment posted a profit before tax of Rs 75.64 crore for the quarter, up 37.7% from Rs 54.94 crore profit in the same quarter last year and up 20.2% from Rs 62.92 crore in the previous quarter. Digital marketing continues to be the largest contributor to Ybrant Digital's revenues, accounting for 76.9% of the company's consolidated revenues for the quarter, which was at Rs 462.38 crore. This is up from 58.9% contribution in the same quarter last year and from 70% in the previous quarter. Software Development Business Declines: The company’s software development business however continues to decline, posting revenues of Rs 106.98 crore for the quarter, a significant 38.9% dip from Rs 175.08 crore in the same quarter last year and a 11.4% dip from Rs 120.73 crore in the previous quarter. It also reported lower profit before tax at Rs 13.93 crore profit for the quarter, registering a 53.6% decline from Rs 30.02 crore in the same quarter last year and a 15.4% decline from Rs 16.46 crore profit in the previous quarter. Consequently, the contribution of software development to Ybrant Digital’s revenues has dropped to 23.1% for the quarter, down from 41.3% in the same quarter last year and 30% in the previous quarter.
