Publicis Buys 51% In Law & Kenneth; To Merge With Saatchi & Saatchi India

French advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe has acquired a majority 51% stake in the Delhi-based advertising and digital agency Law & Kenneth for an undisclosed amount. Following this acquisition, Law & Kenneth will be merged with the Indian unit of Publicis's advertising agency network Saatchi & Saatchi, which will be rebranded as L&K Saatchi & Saatchi. The Law & Kenneth management team will assume the management operations of this new entity. Praveen Kenneth, Law & Kenneth Chairman and Managing Director will manage the new entity in the same role and will be working directly with Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific Chairman and CEO Chris Foster. He will also be joining the Asia-Pacific board of Saatchi & Saatchi. Its worth noting that Kenneth was the CEO of Publicis's India unit from 1999 to 2003, prior to starting Law & Kenneth in 2004. Other members in the management team include Anil S. Nair (CEO and Managing Partner), Sandhya Srinivasan (Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Partner) and Anil K. Nair (CEO-Digital and Managing Partner) who will continue their respective roles in the new entity. Law & Kenneth’s CFO Vijay Agarwal will report to Johann Xavier, Regional CFO for Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific. Founded in 2004, Law & Kenneth is a full service agency which specializes in traditional and digital advertising, branding and marketing. Its clientele includes eBay.in, Times Now, Renault, Dabur, TATA AIG Insurance, Godrej, ITC, Reliance, Idea, Hero MotoCorp and Jockey and others. It was started by Praveen Kenneth and Andy Law along with investor and co-founder Anita Roddick of The Body Shop and has over 285 employees across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.
