Relevant e-solutions Pvt Ltd which operates the gift recommendation engine Giveter and the newly launched social fashion platform Roposo has raised seed funding of less than $500,000 from Anand Lunia’s India Quotient, Pearl Uppal & Gaurav Kachru’s 5ideas Startup Superfuel and Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, reports TechCircle.
The company plans to use the investment raised for building its technology, marketing its offerings and for hiring.
Launched in August 2012, Giveter allows users to discover gifts based on age, relationship (husband, wife, parents, siblings, boyfriend, girlfriend, friends and colleagues among others), occasion (anniversary, birthday, wedding, farewell, valentines day and others), recipient’s personality (adventurous, creative, outgoing, filmy, traveler, geeky, book lover and others), the user’s mood (funky, utility, romantic, precious, personalized, luxury and others) and price range.
It claims to offer more than 10,000 gift ideas from more 40 online shops which includes Flipkart, Ferns & Petals, Hitplay, CountryFlora, Fabfurnish, Caratlane, Happily Unmarried, Healthkart, Bewakoof, Zansaar, Lenskart and Zivame among others. The company earns revenues from lead generation and claims to clock 300,000 visitors on monthly basis.
Roposo is a social recommendation platform focused on the fashion category. It allows users discover fashion products based on their individual preferences. One can either head over to any specific fashion category on the navigation bar to browse through trending products in that category, browse through product lists created by other users or create their own wishlist of fashion products.
GoCoop Solutions and services which operates a social marketplace for co-operatives and community based enterprises has raised undisclosed amount of investment from Unitus Seed Fund and Indian Angel Network.
GoCoop allows co-operatives and community enterprises to list and sell their products online. It currently offers a directory service to search and find co-operatives, a microsite service with trade enquiries, and an e-commerce service with both branded e-stores and a marketplace.
It also allows co-ops to collaborate by allowing them to connect with suppliers, complementary coops and wholesale buyers. It claims to have signed up more than 2600 co-operatives until now.
Welcare Health Systems Private Ltd which offers affordable eye screening services has also raised undisclosed amount of investment from Unitus Seed Fund. The company plans to use the investment raised to strengthen its operations in existing cities and expand its operations to new cities and towns in India. The service is currently available in Chennai, Amritsar and Vijayawada.
Chennai-based Welcare sets up affordable eye screening services within existing diabetes centers, general hospitals, and other health centers. It installs an Internet-connected retinal screening device along with trained technicians to monitor these screenings and then securely transfer patient information including retinal images to Welcare’s certified Ophthalmologists for review and diagnostics. The results are then shared to patients through the staff at the facility they visited.
Squeakee.com, an offers and discounts local search engine has raised undisclosed amount of investment in a bridge round from existing investors Kae Capital and Mumbai Angels, reports TechCircle. The company had earlier raised seed funding of under $1 million from Kae Capital and Mumbai Angels in January 2013.
Squeakee founder & CEO Abrar Shaikh told the publication that they are also looking to raise $5 million -$7 million investment in six-eight months. He claimed that Kae Capital & Mumbai Angels have already committed for the next round and they are receiving a lot of interest from other investors as well.
Squeakee allows users to search and discover offers & specials around their preferred brands, products or category in their respective neighbourhood. One can either search for offers by keying-in the name of their area or the type/name of the merchant in a search bar or by selecting across categories such as Mobile devices, Food & drinks, Shopping, Electronics, Home & Kitchen, Beauty & Health and Entertainment.
