Mobile TV provider Zenga TV has secured exclusive mobile rights for the the 2013 edition of the US Open Tennis Championship which commenced on August 26 and will end on September 9, 2013. Zenga TV has licensed these rights from the sports media firm Seven3Sports, which in turn had received it from Ten Sports. While the deal period or the terms of the partnership were not disclosed, Zenga TV informed that it will be live streaming all the tennis matches on its mobile applications across iOS, Android, and Windows Phone and its mobile site m.zengatv.com for free. It will also offer these matches on demand to consumers, although its not clear if this content is available for a limited period. We have contacted Zenga TV on this and will update once we get a response. Note that these rights doesn't seem to include web rights although Zenga provides web streaming to consumers. Founded in 2009, Zenga TV is an ad-supported mobile TV service, unlike its competitors Apalya and nexGTv which are subscription based. It offers both live and video on demand service and claims to have more than 22 million registered users, who are generating 224 million video views per month at present. At the time of writing this article, the channels offered include news channels like Times Now, Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, CNN, NDTV 24x7, ET Now, and entertainment channels like Zoom, 9XM, Pogo, and Cartoon Network among others.
