After acquiring the local event discovery app PlayCez last week, IndiaMART is spinning off its professional events listing subsidiary Biztradeshows as a separate entity. Speaking to Medianama, Indiamart co-founder Brijesh Agarwal and Biztradeshows co-founder Abhinav Suresh said that they are currently in the process of spinning it out and it is expected to be completed in the next few weeks. PlayCez founder Ashwani Gaur has been appointed as the co-founder of Biztradeshows and will be responsible for looking after the company's mobile and web operations, while the PlayCez team, which consists of 2-3 developers, will form Biztradeshow's mobile team. The company also plans to integrate PlayCez's underlying technology to its platform shortly. Agarwal said that they plan to open an office in the Silicon Valley (US) and are currently building the team. On the investment front, the company will initially be a 100% subsidiary of IndiaMART but it does have plans to raise funds independently in the future, although IndiaMART will continue to remain as an investor and a board member. While Biztradeshows will stick to professional events only, the company plans to be one stop destination which covers all the aspects surrounding a trade show including providing trade show information (text, images & videos), visitor registration, stall booking, event ticketing, hotel booking and online & offline show promotions among others. Agarwal claimed that Biztradeshows currently has the largest aggregated content on professional events globally and offers information for more than 32,000 events, with inventory from more than 90,000 events globally.
