Reliance Communications (RCOM) has partnered STAR Sports to offer unlimited live streaming of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2013 tournament on STAR Sports mobile site to its subscribers. RCOM currently holds the global rights for distributing mobile content related to all International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments. While the terms of the partnership were not disclosed, RCOM informed that this deal will allow them to offer unlimited live streaming of all cricket matches in the tournament for all its 3G users and prepaid GSM subscribers. Users can subscribe to the service by purchasing a tournament pass of Rs. 301, which includes Rs 50 subscription fee to access content on StarSports.com and no additional data charges. After purchasing the tournament pass, subscribers will receive a tournament access code, which can be used to sign up for the service at m.starsports.com and access the live stream on the website. RCOM's Aggressive Data Service Rollout As we have noticed in the past quarter, majority of Indian telcos have reported significant increase in data usage and data revenue - look at Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and RCOM. However, only RCOM seems to have lately been aggressive in rolling out various data services to its subscribers, as compared to other telcos. In April 2013, RCOM had partnered Twitter to launch a new plan – ‘Reliance Twitter Access Pack’ for all Reliance prepaid GSM subscribers in the country.
