Update: It appears that Singapore's SingTel is bringing Shopify’s eCommerce solution in a few Asian countries including India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. SingTel also informs that it is currently working with payment providers in each country to enable transactions in local currencies by September. Earlier (June 6): Exclusive: Canada-based Shopify, which allows one to create their own E-Commerce store, has expanded its operations to India at Shopify.in. It appears that Shopify.in has been live for quite some time now and E-Commerce stores such as Poster Gully, Parisera, We the PPL, Yellow Fashion, No Nasties, and The Beach Company are already using the platform in India. Features & Pricing: The platform provides features such as design templates, web dashboard to manage products, shopping cart, hosting, SEO tools, 24 hours support, mobile optimized stores, and an iOS app which offers brands the ability to manage products on their mobile phones. It also offers an ability to provide discount, real time carrier shipping so that users do not have to calculate shipping cost manually depending on the plan they choose. As for payment gateway, it supports PayPal and DirecPay in India, at the time of writing this article. The platform offers four monthly plans at Rs 750, Rs 1550, Rs 3150, and Rs 9560. The website notes that plans will be processed in USD and the INR based pricing is only approximate pricing.
