Vuclip, a mobile video search and delivery startup, has launched a new solution to evaluate mobile campaign effectiveness. For the same Vuclip has partnered with Millward Brown to give brand metrics that provide  insights beyond click-through-rates. The company claims that it allows advertisers to measure and optimize the brand metrics on mobile ad campaigns allowing them to measure performance.

Vuclip claims that it  gets about 45 million monthly users on 5,500 different mobile handsets.


The Department of Telecom (DoT) has slapped Vodafone India with a penalty of Rs 1,263 crore for allegedly under reporting revenues during financial years 2007-08 to 2010-11, reports Livemint. DoT has asked Vodafone to pay the penalty within 15 days of receiving the notice.


Note that Vodafone India is already struggling with the Indian Income Tax department over Rs 11,000 crore tax dispute on its acquisition of Hutchison’s stake in Hutchison-Essar. In April 2013, Vodafone had served the Indian Government a ‘Notice of Dispute’ regarding India’s proposal to retrospectively tax overseas business deals which was introduced by India’s finance minister Pranab Mukherjee during the Union Budget 2012, last month. According to a WSJ report, India’s cabinet have approved a proposal to negotiate a settlement to the tax dispute between Vodafone and local authorities through a legal process called conciliation.


Bharti Airtel has submitted its final bid to obtain a telecom licence in Myanmar, reports Livemint. The report also claims that Vodafone and China Mobile were among the 12 short listed operators for the bid but pulled out of the bid stating that the terms set by the country did not suit the companies.


Vdopia, a digital advertising and video monetization player, has partnered the International Cricket Council (ICC) to monetize the website www.icc-cricket.com during the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, reports Afaqs.

The website includes content such as news, fixtures, team information, rankings, exclusive videos, alive match centre, photos and social media tools. The ICC Champions Trophy 2013 will be held in England and Wales on June 6-23 at Cardiff, The Oval and Edgbaston.


Karbonn Mobiles has partnered with Vodafone India to offer internet plans to Vodafone subscribers on Karbonn Titanium S5 and Karbonn Smart A12. Vodafone customers who buy Karbon Titanium S5 will get 1GB 3G, 2G or Edge unlimited internet plan for 3 months free of cost. Besides this, Vodafone customers who buy Karbonn A12 will get 500MB 3G, 2G or Edge internet plan for 2 months free of cost.

Previously, we have seen Nokia teaming up with telcos in India to offer such plans.

SupersonicAds offers brands to target Facebook and mobile apps. It also provides consumers to opt-in and earn virtual currencies or digital content by participating in offers, watching video ads, among others. Previously, PlatformPlay had partnered with Aol-owned technology site TechCrunch to bring its series of two-day conferences to India by the end of this year.
