Nikhil Rungta

E-commerce venture has appointed Nikhil Rungta as its Chief Business Officer. The company said that Rungta will be responsible for Yebhi’s strategy, planning and execution of its sales, marketing and product development initiatives.

Prior to this appointment, Rungta was serving as the country marketing head for Google India for the last three and half years. He was also one of the founding members of the online travel agent and was the company’s marketing head for three years.

Besides this, Rungta’s had stints with McCann Erickson India, Dhar & Hoon Advertsing, Contract Advertising, Shaw Wallace & Company and Mayfair Electrical Industries in various roles.

Other Developments

Online cash and carry shoe aggregator, Bigshoebazaar India, which operates a hybrid online and offline wholesale cash and carry business, and the e-commerce venture,, has raised Rs 150 crore from three funding rounds till now.

This includes a Rs 100 crore Series C Funding from Fidelity Growth Partners India and Qualcomm Incorporated and existing investors like Nexus Venture Partners and Catamaran Ventures in July 2012, a Rs 40 crore Series B funding round from Nexus Venture Partners and Catamaran Ventures in July 2011 and Rs 10 crore funding round from Nexus Venture Partners in February 2011.

In July 2012, had introduced mobile and DTH recharge option on its portal and revamped its user interface. The company currently competes with FlipkartBuyThePrice, and for its electronics offerings and other fashion e-commerce portals like, Ambarish Murthy’s, and Smile Interactive’s Freecultr for its lifestyle offerings. With the introduction of mobile and DTH recharge option, It also now competes with existing mobile/DTH recharge players like, and
