Online bus booking portal, RedBus.in has appointed Lakshmikant Gupta as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). (Hat tip - Mohak Gambhir). RedBus CEO Phanindra Sama has confirmed this appointment to Medianama. Update: Speaking to Medianama, Gupta said that he will be responsible for developing and executing the company's consumer marketing initiatives and branding initiatives. Prior to this appointment, Gupta served as the Vice President and the Chief Marketing Officer of LG Electronics India for around five and half years, before stepping down from this position in December 2012. In this role, Gupta was responsible for the company's overall brand and marketing strategy in the country. He was also responsible for managing the company's digital marketing initiatives, brand campaigns, and corporate communications among others. Before this, Gupta also served a 12 year stint at Procter & Gamble in various roles. These include brand manager for Procter & Gamble's oral care products and regional business manager for Gillette. He also had a nine year stint at the Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB), as its associate project director. Update: Along with this appointment, RedBus.in has also appointed Aashu Calapa as its Chief Human Resources Officer. He will responsible for managing the company's HR processes and systems. Calapa was previously heading the HR division for FirstSource (previously called ICICI OneSource) and has had a 11 year stint with the company. He's also had a stint with the IT Major Wipro. Other Developments Last month, RedBus had launched its Android app, which allows users to search and book bus tickets on their phones.…
