Nokia India Mobile Internet Data Jul-Dec 2012: 12.7B Page Views; Top Apps, Games, Songs & More

Updated: Indians have consumed 1.67 Petabytes (1 Petabyte = 10^15 byte or 1000 terabytes) of data and viewed around 12.7 billion pageviews on Nokia-powered handsets between July-December 2012, according to the Nokia Mobisight report released by Nokia India. Methodology: The company says the study was compiled from a customer preference survey of mobile Internet users, but when we contacted Nokia for details of sample size and methodology, they said they cannot comment beyond the press release. On the basis of the data shared, it appears to be anonymised data from the Nokia Browser, Nokia Store and on Nokia Music. We can't be sure because Nokia isn't commenting. Here are some highlights from the study, for whatever it's worth: - The monthly data consumption in the country has increased three fold to 451.82 TB in December 2012, from 147.41 TB consumed in June 2012. - The total number of sessions spent on the browser has increased by two fold to 185.83 million sessions (185,830,112 sessions) in December 2012, up from 86.72 million sessions (86,762,464 sessions) in June 2012. The company noted that the peak access time for Nokia Browser has been from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. - Top Regions For Nokia Browser: Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of active Nokia Browser users in the country, followed by Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Others in the list include Kerala followed by Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Rajasthan and Punjab.
