Sweden-based Mobill which offers m-commerce solutions to businesses, has set up a new development center in India, and has partnered with the Indian security solutions company Sterna Security to offer its mobile payment solutions in India. While the deal period or the financial details of this partnership were not disclosed, the company said that Sterna will be marketing Mobill's payment solutions in the country. Mobill claims that 80% of Sweden’s public transportation operators are currently using its M-Ticket solutions and more than 250 retailers and service providers are using Mobill's m-commerce solution. Founded in 2005, Mobill currently offers various m-commerce solutions and services for businesses. These include a mobile payment solution M-Payment, a mobile parking fee solution M-Parking, a public transportation ticketing solution M-Ticket, a mobile message broadcast and customer support solution M-Gateway and a mobile event ticketing solution called M-Event. It also offers a solution for electronic tickets and coupons called Mcode, which allows ticket controllers to validate these tickets directly from the mobile phone screen. It's currently not clear if Mobill plans to extend all its solutions to India or any specific solution to the country. Mobill CEO Joakim Niléhn, CEO at Mobill, in an emailed response to MediaNama said that "there is nothing up and running at this stage, but we have decided to move into India as this is an attractive market and we have decided to work with an Indian partner. Once rolled out consumer would be able to pay through a variety of goods and services through their mobiles".
