Times Mobile Ltd* has launched a new mobile app called GreetZAP, that allows users to send mobile greetings. The app is currently available on Android as a free download and on WAP platform with an iOS version coming the next few weeks. The timing of launching the app cannot be missed - right before Valentines day. We checked out the app on Android phone and found that it misses a lot of features in the current version. In an email response to MediaNama, Times Internet CEO Satyan Gajwani however mentioned that they wanted the app to be ready by Valentines Day and they would address all the issues in the app in the forthcoming version. Interestingly, we also found a similar app, GreetZAP Festival, on the Play Store and we wonder why Times Mobile has launched multiple apps with similar features. A call with the company did not answer our question. Registration: To use the app, users need to register with their phone number, email address and name. Using your real name is essential as the app sends out messages stating that the messages were sent from this name. Following this, users will receive a text message with a PIN which has to be entered in the app to complete the registration. Offerings: After registration, the app allows one to select the category of message they want to send, including festivals, birthday, anniversary, friendship, sorry, get well, love or else record their own voice message.
