Microsoft Accelerator Batch 2 Startups: 360 Living, Adepto, DeckApp, Frintit & More


Microsoft’s Azure Accelerator has inducted 13 technology startups for its second batch of its accelerator program. The company claims that it received more than 350 applications from technology startups in Big Data, augmented reality, healthcare, education, mobile applications, social networking, security, among others for this batch.

The four month program starts on March 1, 2013 and will end with demo days in the first week of July 2013.

What does it offer? Microsoft will offer office space at its Accelerator facility in Microsoft’s Lavelle Road office, Bangalore and access to more than 100 startup mentors. Microsoft however notes that it does not take any debt or equity from the startups and but it connects startups with Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors to raise financing.

The 13 startups inducted in this batch include:

360 Living is a portal for  for health & wellness. It provides health & wellness information through Q&A, personalized content, support groups and tracking tools. The portal is currently in Beta. It was founded by Rajiv Khatri, Raj Chinai, Rahul Thadani, and Sarah Khatri.

 

Adepto is a Bangalore based startup that recently announced the beta release of its social marketing platform Crowdnub. Crowdnub gives brands customized Apps with the convenience of a SaaS platform, across devices and social platforms.

The company was founded by Kiran Kuman and Ashok M.S. Adepto has previously raised $300,000 (around Rs 1.3 crore) in its first round of funding from Blume Ventures and a consortium of angel investors led by Rajiv Dadlani.

Deck App is a presentation app that allows users to create presentation complete with animated charts and transitions. The app is available for download on iPhone, Android phone, iPad and Android tablet. Deck App had received $100,000 of convertible note funding from Qualcomm Ventures in October 2012.

Frintit is an online portal that allows users to print and receive hard-copy prints of their photos free of cost from the web and from your mobile. Frintit is also a graduate of the Excelerate Labs Class of 2012.

Harness Handitouch Pvt. Ltd.Harness builds a new learning operating system called Touch-on-Cloud. The company claims that its operating system extends from the hardware to the software layer and uses cloud technology. The company is headquartered at Chennai and founded by Subramanian Viswanathan (Subbu).

i7 NetworksI7 Networks is an internet company that develops internet based products from management, to monitoring systems to security systems. It has three products of its own — EagleEye, which monitors network traffic and logs every packet that flows in the network; Hawkeye, which is BYOD discovery & visibility tool; and PeregrineGuard, which builds upon the data collected by EagleEye and HawkEye.

Label Guild is an online marketplace which features designers and boutiques for wholesale fashion buying. The company claims that their fashion experts hand pick designers. Designers can upload their designs on the website to create a showroom. Currently, the company claims to have 50 designers from 15 countries and more than 1000 designs.

profoundisProfoundis creates customized Business Analytics & optimization solutions to enterprises. It has a product called Sense, which analyses the sentiments of the blog comment and alerts blog admin about whom to pay attention. It also moderates swear Comments, Bullying and Spams, the company claims.

QuboleQubole is cloud data platform that provides data management  and provides a fast, easy path to analysis and business insight. The company was founded by  Ashish Thusoo and Joydeep Sen Sarma and is based out of Bangalore and has offices in California, USA. The company has raised funds from Light Speed Ventures, Charles River Ventures, Anand Rajaraman, and Venky Harinarayan.

SupportBeeSupportBee is a desk software that helps enterprises manage their customer support emails. It provides all features including customer support email, HTML email ticketing, contact form, among others to all its plans. Its plan pricing are, however, based on the number tickets a business orders.

TableGrabber is an online service that allows users to book and get confirmed restaurant reservations instantly. The service is currently available in Delhi-NCR region and Mumbai.  The company provides an Electronic Reservation Diary (ERD) solution for restaurants allowing them to receive bookings through the website, phone or walk-ins. Tuebora Access NirvanaTuebora provides a cloud based Identity and Access Governance solutions for an organizations. The company claims that it is in partnership with global solution providers and systems integrators. It also provides Enterprise Grade IAG Service iGovernance 360 targeted towards small as well as large enterprises. The company was launched in 2012.

logoVisarity is an augmented reality company which is building a mobile app called Flikz. Flikz is a mobile consumer entertainment app offering movies, showtimes and consumer engagement through augmented reality.
