Hungama Digital Media‘s ArtistAloud.com, a digital platform for artists that provides access to consumers to unreleased music for sampling, has launched its service on WAP, Desktop and Voice platforms. The company had previously launched a revamped website in March 2012, and was built using HTML5, thereby making it accessible across all devices including PCs, mobile smart phone, tablets and connected televisions. It had then stated its plans to extend the service across various platforms like WAP, IVR, Apps and social media. Desktop App ArtistAloud has partnered with Intel to launch a desktop app, that allows users to stream and download music from ArtistAloud.com. The company says that users can search for music, artists and video on the app based on language and genre or make use of the radio feature to play random songs. However we weren't able to try out the app since Intel AppUp app itself continuously hung on our computer. (We tried it on a computer running Windows 7). The app also apparently features a premium feature called M Zone, which allows users to create and share their own custom playlists, and view geo-tagged music events, which can be shared with their friends. While the ArtistAloud app itself is free to download, users will have to pay $0.99 to avail the M Zone service. Voice ArtistAloud has also partnered with Vodafone, Uninor and MTS to allow them offer this service to their respective subscribers.
