GETIT Gets Jaspreet Bindra As Its CEO

Local information  service GETIT Infoservices has appointed Jaspreet Bindra as its CEO. Bindra has joined from Microsoft (Afaqs had reported his departure earlier this year), where he spent six years, initially heading its Internet business, then its Retail, Entertainment and Devices business. Bindra was a part of the startup team at Baazee.com as its COO, and had started his career at the TATA Administrative Services, spending 11 years at the TATA group. We were under the impression that Bindra was starting up, along with former BDA India (now Analysys Mason) founder Kunal Bajaj. GETIT is a Helion Ventures backed company, and there were unconfirmed reports that Malaysian co Astro acquired a majority stake in it in 2010. The company has dabbled in multiple services - launching Yellow Pages and classifieds, mobile directories and classifieds, an online shopping mall, a deals service, doctor appointments, mobile based local information service, website building tools, Getit film club... do you see a trend? No? We don't getit either. Update: We'd incorrectly mentioned that Bindra left Microsoft last month. It was last year. The story has been updated to reflect that.
