Exclusive: Arun Tadanki, Managing Director, Yahoo (India & South East Asia), has quit after almost a four year stint with the company. The company said that Tadanki will remain with Yahoo till June 2013 and will play an active role in supporting the company during the transition period. Its currently not clear as to where he is heading next, although he mentioned that he will be "playing a very different role within the Internet ecosystem, beyond India". Tadanki had joined as Yahoo India MD back in 2009, filling in the gap left by George Zacharias's departure from the company. He was later given an additional mandate as the Managing Director for the South East Asia region, starting January 1st 2012. The South East Asia region included a group of five Asian countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia, and along with India came under Yahoo's APAC business region. Prior to joining Yahoo, Tadanki was serving as the the President (Asia Pacific & Middle East) for Monster, and had been with Monster for around seven years. He's also had stints at JobsAhead.com and Nestle India. During Tadanki's tenure, Yahoo India set up editorial operations, and inked local content partnerships across categories like as Cricket, Bollywood, Entertainment and News in English and six other local languages. The company currently offers co-branded property in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Kannada and Malayalam, thanks to its tie-ups with Jagran, Lokmat, Dinamalar, Anandabazar Patrika, Udayavani and Malayala Manorama respectively.
