LinkedIn India has appointed Nishant K Rao as a Country Manager for its India operations, reports Business Standard. He will replace Hari Krishnan, who has been moved into a larger role as the Managing Director of Asia- Pacific and Japan. At his new position, Rao will be responsible for scaling up LinkedIn's operations in India. LinkedIn claims that it has 18 million members in India, however, it's not clear how many of them are active users. In April 2012, at its first B2B event in India, LinkedIn had informed that it has close to 14 million registered users from India, out of which 7 million are active users. Clearly, the number of LinkedIn India members is on rise. Prior to joining as Country Manager in India, Nishant K Rao has been with LinkedIn since September 2011 as a Director, Business Operations – Head of Global Sales Strategy at LinkedIn’s headquarters in Mountain View. He has also worked with McKinsey, ARIBA Inc and was also one of the founding members of Epicentre Technologies. ****** Rediffusion- Y&R, a communication agency, has appointed Sam Ahmed as Vice Chairman and Chief Creative Officer.
