Updated below IndiaCast, the content asset monetization joint venture between TV18 and Viacom18, has formed a joint venture with UGBL, a DisneyUTV group company for aggregation and wholesale distribution business of TV channels in India, according to a BSE filing. The joint venture will distribute 35 TV channels from the TV18, Viacom18, Disney UTV, Eenadu Group and A+E Networks|TV18 to Cable, DTH and HITS platforms in India. Anuj Gandhi, CEO - IndiaCast , will manage the joint venture. In June 2012, TV18 and Viacom18 had formed a 50:50 JV, Indiacast, to distribute 26 channels. The new JV is a step-down joint venture and is a 74:26 JV between IndiaCast and Disney UTV. Since TV18 also holds 50% stake in Viacom18, its effective economic interest in IndiaCast is 75% and about 56% in the new venture. UGBL will hold about 26%, while Viacom18 will hold 18% in the new venture. Channels included in new venture: A total of 35 channels are included: TV18 Group – CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNBC-TV18 Prime HD, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat. Viacom18 – Colors, Colors HD,MTV, SONIC, Comedy Central, VH1, Nick.
