Facebook has reported total revenue of $1.585 billion for the quarter ending on December 30, 2012, up from $1.13 billion revenue in the same quarter last year and a net income of $64 million for the quarter, a significant decline from $302 million income in Q4-11. For the year ending 2012, the company reported a total revenue of $5.09 billion, registering a growth from $3.71 billion revenue in 2011 and a net income of $53 million, a massive decline from $1 billion income in 2011. Revenue Split Ad Revenues: Facebook reported an advertising revenue of $1.33 billion for the quarter, registering a 41% increase from $943 million reported in the same quarter last year. Advertising revenue accounted for 84% of Facebook revenues. The company noted that this revenue includes the impact of changes in foreign exchange rates year-on-year (YoY). If these changes were excluded, then advertising revenues would've increased by 43%. Facebook generated 23% of its advertising revenue from mobile, up from 14% in the previous quarter. Payment Revenues: Facebook generated $256 million revenue from its payments products and other fees for the quarter, up from $188 million in the same quarter last year. The company also noted that it recognized $66 million revenue from four months of Payments transactions for accounting reasons, during the quarter. Region-wise: Facebook still generates the highest revenue from United States and Canada region, registering $780 million revenue for the quarter.
