Google-owned video sharing site YouTube has released its annual analysis of the top trending videos, most subscribed YouTube channels and most watched songs, TV shows and movie trailers, called YouTube Rewind 2012. The company stated that it has compiled the top trending video list based on the total number of views generated by the video along shares, searches, likes and responses received by it. As for the top channels list, YouTube stated that the list was compiled based on the total subscriber growth generated by these channels along with account views, reach and engagement. Here are some of India-specific trends mentioned in YouTube Rewind 2012: Top Trending YouTube Videos If we look at the list of top trending YouTube videos, one can easily notice that Bollywood continues to rule the country, with seven of the top ten videos being Bollywood-related, with two spots taken by music artists and the remaining lone spot taken by International music. However, the company didn't offer any break-up of Indian viewership for these videos. Brown Rang song from the music artist Honey Singh was the top trending YouTube video in India, while High Heels song from the same artist and Jaz Dhami stood at fourth place. The popular song Gangnam Style from the Korean popstar Psy stood at second place, while it emerged as the top trending video globally.
