Group FMG, a marketing and media solutions company, has appointed Sandeep Kulkarni as its chief financial officer, reports techcircle. At Group FMG, Kulkarni will be responsible for growth plans and give advise on financial implications of management decisions. He will be based out of the company’s headquarters in New York, and will report to Dilip Keshu, CEO, Group FMG. Prior to joining Group FMG, Kulkarni worked with Monsanto company at various positions, latest being Manager - Mergers & Acquisitions. He has also worked with Iridium India Telecom, Coca Cola India, and Pharmacia United Ltd. **** Following the exit of Danish Khan, erstwhile marketing head of Sony, Gaurav Seth, senior vice-president, marketing, SET Max will handle the marketing of Sony, reports Afaqs. According to the report, Seth will manage marketing for both channels, SET Max and Sony, until SET Max appoints a marketing head for its channel. Seth joined Max in 2008 and prior to that he worked for Indian Cricket League, India as vice-president. He has also worked with Vyas Giannetti Creative Sports, Zee Telefilms and ESPN-Star. According to the report, Danish Khan will join another GEC by January 2013. **** Tunku Varadarajan, the former executive editor of Newsweek International, has been promoted to the position of editor of Newsweek Global. The management shakeup comes after Newsweek's decision to replace the Newsweek print edition with a digital only format titled Newsweek Global.
