Getit To Market BlackBerry Solutions To SMEs With RIM Tie-Up; Getit Film Club

Delhi based classifieds business Getit Infoservices has partnered with Research In Motion (RIM) to market its enterprise solutions to small and medium sized businesses in India.

This partnership will allow them to market its BlackBerry enterprise solutions including its enterprise mobility solutions like BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Express to SMEs in Bangalore and Delhi, followed by other cities in 2013.

RIM intends to focus on SMEs in manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceuticals, textile and garments and retail sectors through this initiative, as indicated by a Business Standard report. The report also added that Getit will be responsible for lead generation in this partnership while Ingram Micro will be responsible for distributing the solution to SMEs.

Google India Tie-up: In October 2012, Getit had inked a similar tie-up with Google, following which Getit was appointed as Google India’s SME partner and as part of the partnership, Getit was responsible for marketing Google’s digital advertising solution Google Adwords to small and medium sized businesses, as well as develop, launch and manage digital campaigns for these businesses. Getit had claimed that it will be marketing these solutions pan-India with its on-ground team of more than 1,000 people across the country.

Speaking with MediaNama, Gupta had informed that the company will act as an additional sales channel for Google to reach Indian SMEs and manage the entire Adwords program for SMEs. Further, he had also added that Getit will bundling its own products with AdWords through this initiative. He had claimed that Getit is signing up around 1.2 million SMEs for listing every year.

SME Website Building Tools: Prior to this, Getit had also started offering web building tools to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to allow them establish an online presence across web, mobile and social media channels in April 2012. The company had tied up with Israel based website building solution provider WebsPlanet for this initiative and was offering WebsPlanet’s Eclipse platform which offered solutions like a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) site builder for building websites, mobile sites and Facebook pages; a DIFM (Do-It-For-Me) service which allows companies to deploy fulfillment personnel to do that; and an automatic mass website creation tool ASC (Automatic Site Creation).

The company had also claimed that this platform will help SME’s with lead generation, customer feedback, email and mobile marketing, social media interaction, among other services.

Getit Film Club

In a separate development, Getit has launched a film community app on Facebook called ‘Getit Film Club – Hits & Misses‘. The company said that this app will offer movie gossip, entertainment reviews, movie trailers, information on upcoming movie releases and box office toppers and live chat with movie stars among others.

When we checked, we noticed that the app offered only a list of Bollywood and Hollywood movies categorized by various sections like ‘In Theatres’, ‘Box Office Toppers’, ‘Upcoming Movies’ and ‘New Releases’. At the time of writing this article, the app offered information only on six different movies including two Bollywood movies (Khiladi 786, Talaash), two Hollywood movies (Life Of Pi and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) and two upcoming Bollywood movies (Dabangg 2, Ammaa Ki Boli).

Each Movie listing had a dedicated rating and one can click on their preferred movie to view the movie synopsis, cast, trailer, critic reviews and user reviews. We tried clicking on the movie trailer button but it didn’t work at the time of writing this article.

Besides that, one can also rate any movie and post their review for any specific movie by submitting their comment in the text box provided below each movie listing and grant requisite permissions to the app, following which the review is posted below the movie listing as well on the user’s timeline. While Getit had informed that the content portals that it operates are also integrated with partners for a layer of knowledge, we’re not sure how the film club will serve the purpose of adding value to lead generation.
