Broadcaster NDTV has reported a net loss (consolidated) of Rs 14.68 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012, a decrease in loss from Rs 26.09 crore loss in the previous quarter and Rs 22 crore loss in the same quarter, last year. The group's total income was Rs 103.3 crore for the quarter, a decrease from Rs 106.8 crore revenues in Q1-FY12 and Rs 105.2 crore revenue in Q2-FY12. The group's total expenditure stood at Rs 133.67 crore during the quarter, an increase from Rs 129.08 crores in the same quarter last year, while employee costs stood at Rs 40.67 crore during the quarter, an increase from Rs 36.35 crore in Q2-FY12. NDTV Cooks Mobile App: During the quarter, NDTV released an Android and iOS app for NDTV Cooks, its gastronomy focused website. The app is available as a free download on Google Play Store and on the App Store and allowed users to browse through various recipes from the website and restaurant listings across eight cities. NDTV Hindu/Metronation Sale Completed: Last month, the group stated that it had completed the sale of Metronation Chennai or NDTV Hindu to Educational Trust Company Private Limited, promoters of the Tamil Daily ‘Dina Thanthi’ on September 28, 2012. NDTV and Kasturi and Sons had previously sold their respective stake (NDTV’s stake was 51%) in Metronation Chennai or NDTV Hindu to Educational Trust Company Private Limited for Rs 15 crore.
