Info Edge (India) has invested Rs 5 crore (or Rs. 50 million) in Happily Unmarried Marketing Private Limited for about 25% stake of the company, on a fully diluted and converted basis, according to a BSE filing.
The filing states that Happily Unmarried has raised this capital through optionally convertible cumulative redeemable preference shares and it intends to use the capital to expand its online business through its website Happilyunmarried.com.
Established in 2003, Happily Unmarried currently designs and sells fun merchandise through its online portal and a chain of offline stores in India, France and United Kingdom. In India, the company claims to have seven brand outlets across the country, including four outlets in Delhi and one outlet each in Goa, Shillong and Chandigarh. It also claims to have presence in multi-brand outlets in 22 cities including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Surat and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum).
Besides this, the company also seems to conduct music festivals, and do corporate projects like corporate gifting. The company website also suggests that it has recently started partnering with various corporates for projects involving branding, communication, interiors, and marketing among others. Some of its clients include Malayala Manorama, NDTV Good Times, CNBC Awaaz, Radio Mirchi, Britannia, Vodafone, ESPN Star Sports, National Geographic Channel and Scullers among others.
Online Store: At the time of writing this article, the online portal offers merchandise across various categories including Home and Kitchen products like Mugs, Cushions, Dining Mats, Key Chains, Photo frames and Wall Clocks among others, Tee shirts, Bags, Lamps, Stationary Products and so on. It also enables users to filter down results based on gender, relationship, and pricing and has a keyword-based search box which allows one to search for their preferred product.
Among the payment options offered include credit and debit card. It also offers cash on delivery option for orders above Rs 500. The company charges a variable shipping fee based on the user’s location and claims to ship products within 2-3 days of the initial booking.
