Tanla Solutions, the mobile VAS company, has posted a total revenue of Rs. 29.03 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2012, a significant 34.46 % decline from Rs 44.30 crore in the corresponding quarter, last year. Tanla reported a net loss of Rs 28.07 crore, a 29.2% increase from Rs. 19.86 crore loss in the same quarter last year. For the quarter, Tanla also reported a decline in its overseas revenues to Rs 22.91 crores from Rs 39.19 crore reported in the corresponding quarter last year. However, its domestic revenue increased to Rs 6.12 crore from Rs 5.10 crores in the same quarter last year. It should be noted that these are consolidated results, and include results for multiple ventures including Tanla Oy in Finland, its operations in India, Singapore, UAE, Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Middle East, United Kingdom as well as Tanla’s joint venture with ZED – TZ Mobile. Standalone Results: On a standalone basis, Tanla reported an income of Rs 7.38 crore, up from Rs 6.06 crore reported for the same quarter last year, and a loss after tax of Rs 1.47 crore, down from Rs 2.96 crore reported in Q2-FY12. Previous developments: In July 2012, Tanla Solutions launched Games Club for BlackBerry Smartphone customers in the Asia Pacific region. As part of the deal, Tanla will be offering over 80 games from Electronic Arts including Need for Speed, Wolverine, The Sims 3, Tetris and Harry Potter to BlackBerry users through the BlackBerry App World.
