Komli Media, an online advertising network, has announced a partnership with Zynga, the social gaming company. The partnership gives Komli exclusive rights to sell web display ads and video inventories on all games across the Zynga platform in India, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Zynga owns popular games on Facebook such as CityVille, FarmVille, Mafia Wars, YoVille and FishVille. It makes about 90 per cent of its income via Facebook, whereas Facebook makes 12 per cent of its income from Zynga. To get out of Facebook's shadow increase revenue, Zynga launched a portal Zynga.com in Beta earlier this year. Zynga's In India: In March 2011, Zynga launched its Bangalore studio Zynga Studio-I. Prior to that, Zynga had tied up with MOL AccessPortal Berhad (MOL) to launch dedicated Zynga Game Cards in India (and 5 other countries), allowing users to pay for virtual goods within the games. The tie-up with MOL allowed Zynga Game Cards to be available at Sify’s Cybercafes in India, Zapak Gameplex‘ and Reliance Worlds, ITZ Cash Cards, Ezp cards, online banking (via CC Avenue), OxiCash, Paymate, Paypal (though that option might not be applicable), and even money transfer co’s like Western Union, and MoneyGram. Recently, Komli Media raised $39 million (Rs 214 crore). The financing round was led by Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) and its existing investors including Nexus Venture Partners, Helion Venture Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and a new investor Western Technology Investment participated in the fund raising.
