It’s been on the cards for a while now, and we’re pleased to announce NAMA, MediaNama’s first conference, to be held towards the end of September 2012 in Delhi. The compelling question that has been on our mind so far is – why do another conference, when there is a glut of conferences on the digital and mobile industry? Read on:
Why
What we’ve realized after doing three panel discussions over the last few months is that there still remains a paucity of deep discussions, and there are people with questions that most digital conferences have failed to answer: digital conferences in India have mostly been about the speakers, not about meaningful discussions, and not about providing value to the audience, who deserve much better. More importantly, there appears to be a transformation taking place in both the Internet and Mobile services businesses, and there is significant uncertainty upon us: deep, insightful and meaningful discussions, sharing of experiences, might help provide a sense of direction. There is little doubt that more and more of India is digitizing, and more businesses will be digital over the next few years, and we’re looking to help make sense of this transformation. We want you to learn business and do business there.
We also want to make this fun. We want this to be an event that people want to go into the conference for, not just chat in the hallway (and we won’t push you in, promise). We want interesting, provocative conversations that make you think or react, plan, take notes, tell people about it, and go back enriched.
So, we’re looking to put forth a conference with a healthy mix of ideas, thought leadership and with important operational questions being addressed, with fresh ideas being shared and showcased, and hopefully, defining a sense of directions in these uncertain times, and a vision.
Is it possible?
Help us out
So far, we have an empty canvas, and we’d appreciate it if some of you, our readers, would volunteer to work with us and help us out in defining this initiative, whether in terms of topics that need to be discussed or fleshed out, suggestions of who you would like to hear speak at the event, great businesses that you would like to see demo or launch their products (or if you would like to launch/demo yours), define our design, help us figure out how to give maximum value to those attending.
