Redbus.in,the online bus booking site, has announced a tie up with Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC), following which the site will sell RSRTC bus tickets. This would enable the site to offer a more choice to its customers booking bus tickets in the northern region. The company had announced a similar tie-up with Goa State Road Transport, earlier this year. The company also informed that it had sold more than 10 million seats and had recorded a registered consumer base of 2 million, reporting an average growth rate of 250% during the last 5 years. RedBus offers bus ticket booking service through its website and over the phone. Customers can also get bus tickets delivered to home and make payment via a range of payment options including cash-on-delivery. The company claims to offer ticket inventory for over 1.8 lakh bus routes across India, operated by more than 700 bus operators. RedBus was founded in 2006 and was self-funded by Phanindra Sama, Charan Padmaraju and Sudhakar Pasupunuri. The Company raised its first capital in 2007 from Seedfund Advisors, an early stage investor and their second investment in 2009 from Seedfund, Helion and Inventus Capital. The company today has 400 employees and 18 offices spread across India.
