HushBabies, an eCommerce portal focusing on baby care products, has raised fresh funding in a Series-A round, from IndoUS Venture Partners (IUVP), reports VCcircle. Prior to this, IUVP had participated in its Seed round of funding along with Nexus Partners. However, Nexus has sold out its investment in Hushbabies by selling its stake to IUVP. The investment is rumored to be in the range of $3-5 million (~Rs. 16-27 crore). It is not clear as to what the funding is going to be used for. Hushbabies sells baby care products like -- bathing and diapers, essentials for new moms, health and safety, toys and books, and clothing. Hushbabies provides products from brands like Nuby, Leap Frog, Pampers, among others. The website accepts all conventional form of payment solutions including net banking, credit/debit card, PayPal, and Cash on Delivery (COD) albeit only in selected cities. The website also offers free shipping on all products above Rs. 249. The eCommerce portal also features Super Saving service where it offers heavy discounts on certain products. Recently, Sridhar Seshadhri joined HushBabies.com and its sister site BabyBox.in as CEO. BabyBox.in was launched by Jasper, the company behind SnapDeal.com, however, HushBabies had taken over BabyBox. The details of the transaction are not disclosed yet. Other players Recently, Firstcry.com, another ecommerce site offering baby care products, raised $14 million from IDG ventures and SAIF Partners. Apart from that, there are players like Babyoye.com and its sister site kidsoye.com.
