Robert W. Balazy Appointed CEO Of Ybrant Owned Lycos

Ybrant Digital owned Lycos Inc has appointed Robert W. Balazy as its CEO. Balazy, who’s been employed with Lycos in 2003, is coming back to lead the company with a record of M&A, Strategic Partnerships and product management with NameMedia, Register.com and Applied Semantics. Before joining Lycos, Rob Balazy was President and CEO of Inform Technologies Inc., a Spark Capital-backed developer of semantic web technology based in New York City. Launched as a search engine back in the 90s, Lycos.com now encompasses various groups of community and social sites, including the games portal gamesville.com and web hosting service tripod.com. Hyderabad based Ybrant Digital Limited, an online marketing company acquired Lycos, from Daum Communications of Korea for $36 million, in an all cash deal back in 2010. Ybrant Digital has offices in 20 countries, including US, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Ukraine, Serbia, Israel, China, India, and Australia, and with representatives or partners in Spain, Greece and The Netherlands.  Recently, the Andhra Pradesh High court approved the merger of YBrant Digital and LGS Global.
