Saregama CEO Apurv Nagpal Puts In Papers

Apurv Nagpal, CEO of Saregama, one of India’s largest music labels has resigned, with effect from 6th April 2012. The formalities related to the resignation process are still being carried out by the company. Confirming the development to MediaNama, Apurv informed that he plans to take some time off to complete his book and spend time with his kids and family, and that there were a couple of options which he might consider, at a later stage. He did not comment on the appointment of his successor at Saregama. Apurv joined Saregama in January 2009. During his tenure, the company followed-up on its digital initiatives, and also invested in digital properties such as Timbre Media, inking content and distribution tie-ups. He was also pretty vocal in the music industry's fight against online piracy. Prior to joining Saregama, Apurv has worked with companies like SAB-Miller, Reckitt Benckiser, BAT and Procter & Gamble India.
