Communication group Publicis Groupe has acquired the Mumbai-based digital marketing and web development agency Indigo consulting. While the financial details of the acquisition weren't revealed, Publicis Groupe stated that Indigo Consulting will retain its name and operate as a separate unit within the Leo Burnett Group in India. Vikas Tandon, founder of Indigo consulting will remain as the unit's Managing Director and report into Arvind Sharma, Chairman of India Subcontinent, Leo Burnett. Publicis Groupe added that it intends to double its size in India by 2015. Launched in 2000, Indigo Consulting provides services like website design and development, search engine optimization, usability research and testing, and marketing online, on mobiles and in social media. It has developed websites, software solutions and digital marketing programs for various clients across the world including Asian Paints, HDFC Bank, HSBC (India, Asia-Pacific and Middle East), Loop Mobile, Tata AIG Insurance and South Australia Tourism. It currently employs 160 people across its Mumbai headquarters and its Delhi office. Publicis Groupe claims to be the third largest communications group in the world, and employs 54,000 professionals with presence in 104 countries. Its major networks include Leo Burnett, MSLGROUP, PHCG (Publicis Healthcare Communications Group), Publicis Worldwide, Rosetta and Saatchi & Saatchi. Publicis Groupe also has a media and digital accelerator called VivaKi which includes Digitas, Razorfish, Starcom MediaVest Group and ZenithOptimedia.
