iXiGO.com, an Indian meta travel search engine, has inked a deal to power the flight and hotel search on the website of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA), Malé, Maldives. Just like Delhi and Hyderabad airports, whose websites also feature iXigo's search engine, Male's airport is also managed by GMR. iXigo claims to feature search results accumulated from more than 100 travel websites. At the moment, it features fight and hotel search, however there are tabs for boat search and 'book a lounge', which are yet to be implemented. We don't know if the other two search options will also be powered by iXigo. iXiGO is essentially a meta search engine that initiates leads to the websites of airlines and OTAs. The company was launched in the 2007 and is head-quartered in Gurgaon, Haryana. It currently aggregates search results from Yatra, Travelocity, MakeMyTrip, Expedia, goIbibo and others. iXiGO is an investee company of VC Fund SAIF Partners and travel booking site MakeMyTrip, which had acquired a 76.6% stake for $18.5 million around August last year. Post this transaction, SAIF Partners holds 56.7% of the company while 19.9% is held by MakeMyTrip. Sites that compete with Ixigo include Wego, Mobissimo, Smile Interactive backed Zoomtra, and global major Kayak.
