Around two and a half years into a rather low-key stint as MD of Yahoo India, Arun Tadanki has now been given the additional mandate as the Managing Director for the South East Asia region, starting January 1st 2012. Confirming the development to MediaNama, a Yahoo spokesperson explained that the South East Asia includes a cluster of five countries - Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia, and along with India comes under the APAC business region for Yahoo. Tadanki will head both India and South East Asia, and continue to report to Rose Tsou, who heads the APAC region. Tadanki had joined as Yahoo India MD back in 2009, filling in the gap left by the departure of George Zacharias from the company. Back then, the Middle East and Africa region was a part of his mandate, but appears that changed. Prior to joining Yahoo, Tadanki the President (Asia Pacific) for Monster, and had been with Monster for around seven years before joining Yahoo. Earlier this year, Scott Thomson joined as CEO of Yahoo.
