MPG, the International media services group, run by Havas Media has launched its mobile marketing division, Mobext in the Asian region, starting with India, reports Exchange4Media, and has appointed Arnav Neel Ghosh (Ex Iris Nation) as General Manager for South Asia region, while Ashutosh S Srivastava (Ex ACL Wireless) has joined as Business Director. Mobext will debut in other South Asian markets, namely China and Philippines, later this year, according to the company. The division currently operates in nine markets, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, France, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, UK and US. The company's website does not list the Indian office. Havas Media also runs Media Contacts, a digital media agency. Mobext offers mobile marketing solutions including, services like SMS, mobile downloads, image recognition, WAP consulting and development, Mobile display, Mobile search and video, apps, and proximity based services such as LBS, mapping and navigation to its clients. It will also offer reporting and analytics, within Havas Digital's campaign management system through Artemis. Mobext's current clients include brands like Nike, Coca Cola, BBC, Dell, McDonalds, Volvo, TIM, Peugeot, Kaspersky, Barclays, Pizza Hut, Orange, among others. Other players in the mobile marketing space include OnMobile and Madison's mobile marketing JV - Kabuza Marketing, One97 and NetworkPlay's JV and Affle.
