MeriCar Gets Funding From MyFirstCheque

MeriCar.com, a website that lets users make online bookings for car servicing, has got initial funding from MyFirstCheque, reports TechCircle. The investment amount has not been disclosed, however, MyFirst Cheque on its website says that it provides seed capital between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh at their inception stage. The website was founded by Rakesh Sidana, who runs his own web solutions firm, Amoeba Webware. MeriCar is a car service platform which lets dealers and customers register on the site and connect with each other. At the time of writing this post, the site only enables users to send inquiries to listed dealers by filling up a form and does not accept real time service bookings. The dealers, upon receiving a request, contact the user. Dealers can either get a free listing on the website that would enlist them in the service dealers directory or a paid premium listing that also comes with promotion. There is also a Gold dealer membership for exclusive arrangement for loyalty paid customers. On the customer front, the site offers free and paid memberships. The paid membership offers discounts and on road assistance. It currently offers service listings in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigargh, Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune and Rajkot. Although some of these regions do not have verified paid listings from service dealers.
