BWA Auction, Govt Revenue On Day 15 Nears Rs. 40,000 Cr; Soon

Despite 100% activity level, the average price increase per round on Day 15 of India's Broadband Wireless Access Auction dropped to Rs. 86.21 crore per round. At the end of the 6 rounds held on the day, demand appeared to flag - there was excess demand for only one circle - Kerala, and both Delhi and Mumbai reported par-demand at just 2 bids. It's likely that the BWA Auction will end either today or tomorrow. The the pan-India spectrum price has increased to Rs. 12774.57 crore, up 4.22% from day 14. The Indian government stands to make at least Rs. 38323.71 crore from the BWA auction - Rs. 25549.14 crore from the private telecom operators. The pan-India price is now 7.3 times the base price of Rs. 1750 crore, up Rs. 11024.57 crore after 116 rounds. The average price increase per round has been Rs. 95.04 crore As of June 10th 2010, - Delhi is priced at Rs. 2221.02 crore, accounting for 17.39% of total Pan India price. The circle reported par demand. - Mumbai is priced at Rs. 2272.95 crore, accounting for 17.79% of total Pan India price.
