Earnings Digest: Jagran Prakashan, Shyam Telecom & BAG Films

Jagran Prakashan Net Profit Down 20.9% QoQ Jagran Prakashan Limited, publishers of Dainik Jagran, has invested in Event and Outdoor businesses to diversify and broad-base their growth. During the quarter, it launched three more editions of City Plus at Navi Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune. Recently in January, City Plus was launched at Hyderbad also. City Plus now has 21 editions. Details: Financials| Release Jagran Prakashan reported a net profit of Rs 397.3 million for the quarter ended December 2009, up 156.89 percent YoY. Net profits for the previous quarter ended September 2009 was Rs 502.76 million. Operating revenues stands at Rs 2269.1 million, up 9.62 percent from Rs 2070.1 million reported for the corresponding quarter of the previous year and down 8.06 percent QoQ. Ad revenue and circulating revenue for the quarter was declared as Rs 1481.8 million, down 13.65 QoQ and Rs 531.9 million, marginally down 2 percent QoQ respectively. Shyam Telecom Net Loss Reduces Shyam Telecom has reported a net loss of Rs 8.87 million for the quarter ended December 2009, an improvement over the loss of Rs 40.56 million reported for the quarter ended September 2009. Total revenue for the company stands at Rs 623.97 million for the quarter, down 11.42 percent QoQ. Details: Financials Revenue from telecom products and services stands at Rs. 144.32 million and from projects and trading at Rs 479.65 million.
