NDTV Worldwide, the media consulting division of NDTV Limited has partnered with Bangladesh based Beximco Group to launch a 24 hour news and current affairs channel in Bangladesh called Independent Television. The Beximco Group manages the publication of the daily, The Independent and the channel will be launched through its media subsidiary, Independent Television Ltd, by early September 2010. The companies have not released any financial details. The nature of the partnership is also not known. NDTV will assist Beximco with the channel planning and execution, as well as overall operational and business management of the channel. Beximco also has IT and ISP businesses in Bangladesh. NDTV Finacials NDTV had reported a 9.13% fall in net losses to Rs. 118.5 million in the quarter ended September 2009 compared to the same quarter last year. Standalone income from operations fell 6.17% year on year to Rs. 693.5 million. Expenses had risen marginally to Rs. 781.5 million compared to last quarter, but fell 13.19 percent on a year on year basis. Net loss for the company, standalone, was Rs 118.5 million for the quarter ending September, 2009; 5 times more as compared to Rs 23.9 million reported the previous quarter. A consolidated net loss of Rs 855.9 million was reported for the quarter.
