Avinash Nair Roped In As GM At Hungama
Avinash Nair has joined Hungama Digital Media as General Manager – South (India). Prior to this, Avinash was Head Sales- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Kerala at Out-Of-Home Media. Avinash will be responsible for developing and managing the sales function of Hungama’s digital agency business. He will be reporting to Niloufer Dundh, Head of Integrated Media at Hungama. Apart from Out-of-Home, Avinash has also worked with Radio Mirchi, Hutchison Telecom and Jet Airways.
Yahoo In A Spot About Online Test Crashing
IGNOU has asked its service Yahoo to provide explanations as to why the online entrances test crashed as soon as it had begun. About 9350 students were supposed to appear in the test for admission inot the diploma and degree programmes in engineering under IGNOU. The test was being held at 80 centres across the country.

RCOM Launches Simply Reliance Plan
Reliance Communication will be launching new tariff variants under its Simply Reliance Plan. For short duration callers, rates will be 1paise/second single call rate. For long duration callers it will be Re 1 for 3 minutes call rate. For those with standard call duration, Reliance will continue to offer its 50p/minute tariff rate.
BSNL has introduced a promotional offer, starting 1st of November and lasting one month. In the offer all local calls, STD and national SMS will cost only 49p. The tariff plan is called Just 49 paise.
Google‘s Search by Voice For Nokia S60 Handsets
Google India has launched voice based mobile search application for Nokia S6o phones (mostly N and E series handsets). What it allows a user to do is speak out the search query and the application will show the relevant details, which means no typing. The application can be downloaded and a shortcut will be placed on the home screen. Pressing the call button will activate the search and then you can speak your query. This application is also a location based service and will provide relevant search results in terms of your location.
