Hope they are able to keep the content as pure as Weblogs does. No interference in the editorial and clear policies with respect to their dealing with companies. Like engadget pays for its airfare to trade shows, press meets and returns gadgets after review or gives them away in a contest.

They lack juice because, it's the normal journos who're blogging there and they're required to adhere to a particular style when blogging on TOI blogs. That's why I said earlier that they should get fresh junta for these blogs.. for fresh perspectives and more bloggish writing styles.
PS: They have a bad reppo when it comes to honesty in reviews among netizens.. if they do this right, they can change that.. but if they do it right =D

you mean tech bloggers working for TOI wouldn't face issues next time they want to trash Microsoft for their shitty products….hehe…you need a reality check dude….why do you think all of TOI's existing blogs suck so much (lack juice/sarcasm as someone earlier said)..blogs are all about free and honest opinion, something that you can't ever expect from a large media house with dubious credibility standards.

Nikhil… can you put up a list of stuff Bennet & Coleman has done in the internet mobile space, its status and your views on it? would make for interesting reading.

Blogging is a bit old isnt it? and wasnt blogging supposed to be the anti-christ for traditional media? Sounds a bit like wolf in sheeps clothing. I'll get my tech news from independents.. thanks!

I just hope they dont take me, the consumer for granted.. despite my inadequacies!

It should turn out great, but these web sites should be well designed ;) Other problem is they should not put too many pop ups (I agree they need the revenue) but there are other ways. Also, it should be totally integrated with social media.

Indiatimes (attn. Abhimanyu Radhakrishnan), one more suggestion: make sure the posts are fun, the content should be written in a way similar to Gizmodo, Kotaku, Engadget or Destructoid.

Karthik, peerpower is a site run by timesjobs.com and is not part of Times Internet. I also don't see the connection. Why must we judge everything before they are also launched. The problem with india is that we are detractors for anything homegrown. I think the more content and sites we have there the better it is for the indian consumer, Instead we engage in negative banter to fill our own inadequacies
