Zaki Ansari has joined UTV New Media as Chief Product and Technology Officer, MediaNama has learned from reliable sources, whom we contacted following an anonymous comment. Ansari himelf has declined to confirm or deny the development, though from what we're told, he has already started work at UTV New Media. Ansari, former VP (Products) at Rediff, had resigned last month, after 14 years at the company. Ansari will report to UTV New Media CEO Manish Agarwal, who is himself a former Rediff man, and at the time of filing this story, was unreachable for comment. We've contacted UTV New Media for an official confirmation. Ansari and Agarwal had worked together when Agarwal was VP(Marketing) at Rediff. Agarwal had joined UTV New Media as CEO in June from Microsoft. UTV New Media had downsized last month, as a part of an annual consolidation and restructuring exercise. The company reported a turnover of Rs. 150 million for the financial year 2008-09, and a loss after tax of Rs. 7.77 million. It will be up to Agarwal and Ansari to turn things around for the company.
