Global business news and information company Bloomberg has inked a deal for a co-branded business channel with UTVi. Starting next month, UTVi, the business news channel from UTV News Ltd will be renamed Bloomberg-UTV, while the website UTVi.com will be renamed bloombergutv.com (not live yet). UTVi.com appears to have recently been redesigned. In India, Reuters has a partnership with ET Now, Mint has a partnership with CNBC-TV18. Wonder who will beef up NDTV Profit's International content portfolio. Keep in mind that NBC Universal is an investor in NDTV Networks Ltd, yet a partner with TV18 for CNBC-TV18. ContentSutra had reported in May that Bloomberg was in talks with UTVi and in July with NDTV for partnership. We've asked UTV and Bloomberg for a clarification on whether the deal has been struck between Bloomberg and UTV News Ltd, and how much UTV promoter group entities - Unilazer Exports and Management Consultants Ltd, Unilazer (Hong Kong) Ltd - own of UTV News Ltd. Note that in India news businesses cannot sell more than 26 percent stake to foreign investors. Disney is an investor in the UTV group. TV Content Viewers of Bloomberg-UTV will have access to the global feed from Bloomberg Television, from 145 bureaus that Bloomberg News has across the world, and incorporate international programming elements.
