Global business news and information company Bloomberg has inked a deal for a co-branded business channel with UTVi. Starting next month, UTVi, the business news channel from UTV News Ltd will be renamed Bloomberg-UTV, while the website UTVi.com will be renamed bloombergutv.com (not live yet). UTVi.com appears to have recently been redesigned.
In India, Reuters has a partnership with ET Now, Mint has a partnership with CNBC-TV18. Wonder who will beef up NDTV Profit’s International content portfolio. Keep in mind that NBC Universal is an investor in NDTV Networks Ltd, yet a partner with TV18 for CNBC-TV18. ContentSutra had reported in May that Bloomberg was in talks with UTVi and in July with NDTV for partnership.

TV Content
Viewers of Bloomberg-UTV will have access to the global feed from Bloomberg Television, from 145 bureaus that Bloomberg News has across the world, and incorporate international programming elements. Which means that like in case of CNBC-TV18, one may find the channel switching to a Bloomberg TV once prime-time is over in India, and in case of internationally stories or interviews of significance, Bloomberg-UTV will have content to showcase. The web site UTVi.com, which has recently been redesigned will be rebranded as bloombergutv.com with content from bloomberg; I don’t quite like the longer URL. We’ve requested Bloomberg for inputs on the kind of content that will be provided to bloombergutv, and will update when we have more.

bloombergutv.com is live now, same as utvi.. No drastic changes for now.. but an interesting tie-up nevertheless
great move i must say…..infact the iphone markets app that is powered by bloomburg will surely pick up sales in india, as the feed for indian markets can then be exchanged within the two companies….
It is a great deal … helping upholding the business relation ahead. We can hope a something good out of it.
