Nikhil:
#1) You still havent answered alok's question - which methodolgy do you believe in.

#2) Comscore is under no obligation to explain you the methodoly. Most probably it is a trade super secret, and explaining anything special to you would be unlawful (comscore is listed company). It would also mean its methodolgy is more prone to rigging if it is not secret.

#3)Also saying that you dont endorse comscore methodoly is unneccessary - your readers are intelligent enough to make a judgement on that. In that sense it seems that you endorse ET (since you have not put a disclaimer)

#4) It seems fashionable to trash comscore, alexa by everyone in india. At the sametime noone has any alternate/better solution. Whats the point then...

Alok:

we don't recognize comscore methodology because we don't understand how they do their sampling and how they arrive at their conclusions. I have contacted Comscore for an explanation in the past, and not received an adequate response from their side.

Companies like Consim Info and Info Edge, who have used Comscore for marketing purposes have been unable to explain to me how it works. At the same time, Info Edge uses Comscore in their financial results as a third party stats tool. If we were aware of Comscores sampling methodology and method of calculation, we would be able to give adequate warning to our readers, like try to do in other cases.

It's not about us certifying any authority, but about us having sufficient knowledge of how the research has been conducted, so our readers are aware of potential for inaccuracy.

If you think our thought process regarding Comscore is incorrect, please do share your opinion on how, and we'll do a rethink. Thanks.
