Bang on the nail!!! Online portals marketing is a very different ball game. As pointed out, TV Ads are feel good for employees, but ROI isn't that great unless the purpose is brand building. The biggest brands on the web were eventually built up by the functionality of the portal and not big-spend marketing. Yahoo, Google, Facebook are the testimony of that. Eventually great products are marketing machines!!!
