Ozura Mobile, a mobile game developer and publisher, has signed a partnership deal with Goldfinch Mobile Solutions to bring mobile games and a tournament based mobile gaming community portal to India. Goldfinch is a Hong Kong based co which set up operations at the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park. Ozura has a proprietary platform called FunlogiX, which features mobile game tournaments and communities, and works with GSM, CDMA and fixed line as well.

Well, not much of a fixed line opportunity yet, but does India really have the bandwidth for anything except turn-based multi-player gaming? Perhaps this partnership has been announced based on the notion that BSNL plans to launch 3G services by the end of the year (unless they have done so already)…but we know how it is with BSNL and their announcements – you hear about plans, repeatedly about small deployments.

This also reminds me of something that Salil Bhargava, CEO of Jump Games had said a couple of days ago – “You’ll hear about bluetooth games and multiplayer games being launched – that’s all just to get into the press.” A co-incidence? A couple of years ago, Ozura had announced distribution deals in India – with Coruscant Tec, Indiagames and Mobile2Win. We’ve asked Ozura for an update on the status of these deals.

In abroad,Gaming tournaments(with big cash prizes) aren’t new anymore.
If we talk abt ourself, gaming craze has always been there in India but the thing that limits a flourishing gaming industry & rise of ‘pro-gamers’ in India is lack of such deals in the past.

Hope, many such deals are already in the pipeline and will help making ‘gaming’ a profession rather than just a passion..(i personally know many guys are good for nothing but have hell big passion for gaming)
